How do I make a booking?
Please give us a call. We will ask for some information from you; name and billing address, phone numbers and method of payment. We will then email or fax you a booking form showing where and when you are staying and the charges for this stay and terms and conditions attached to your booking. You should review this form and agree by signature and then fax or email back to us to ensure you have booked this property. Be assured that no charges can be or will be made without this signed agreement.
What type of deposit and payment due dates can I expect?
In most circumstances we require a 50% deposit on booking and a further 50% 60 days before your check in. If you are booking for a vacation stay within the 60 days then 100% of the cost is required. Hen you book your home we will send you a booking form that will tell you your schedule of payments. Sometimes in addition to the booking deposit, individual ask for a refundable security deposit to be provided either at the time of booking or upon arrival. Ski and Beach Homes tries to avoid this payment where ever possible preferring to use your credit card as surety against damage. Your will asked to agree to this on the booking form.
Where can I find details on check-in times.
Our check instructions sent to you after we have taken your deposit will detain check in and check out times as well as more details about the property. In general check is at 3 pm and check out 11 am but it may be possible to arrange and early check and/ort a late check on an individual basis.
How are cancellation and refunds handled?
The cancellation policy will be outlined on our booking form and here;NB. Cancellations due to weather conditions are not usually permitted. Travel insurance can protect your vacation investment if unforeseen circumstances require you to cancel your tripCANCELLATION POLICY: If you cancel your reservation more than 60 days prior to your expected arrival date, or if you cancel within 60 days and we are able to re-book the unit for the entire time of your original reservation, 80% of the total reservation amount will be refunded. The total amount of payments received will be forfeited if you cancel within 60 days of arrival and we are unable to re-book the home. Major Holiday bookings are non-refundable. We recommend that you purchase travel insurance through www.travelguard.com or another similar company for Acts of God which may cause an interruption or a last minute cancellation of your trip.
What about travel arrangements?
We are not a full service agency, our concentration is in finding you the right home for your vacation however we can offer you advice on where to get plane tickets and car rentals and help you with local drivers for your transfer.
What type of pre arrival instructions should I expect?
Everything should be outlined within our check in instructions sent out when you make your booking. They tell you who the property manager is, instructions of where to go to get the keys or lock box security code; sometimes we will send you a key before you travel In most cases you will get a map to the property or details of hoe to get to the property managers office who give you a map to the home.
What happens when I arrive at the property?
Some owners send you a key in advance, some actually live on site and will meet you, and some arrange for their representative to meet you at the property. Make sure you are given details of some one you can contact if something goes wrong. If you are delayed, it is courteous to inform the owner.
What if there is a problem during my vacation?
It is in your best interest and the owner’s interest to fix any problems immediately. You should have local numbers to contact the local property manager or possibly the owner. Call us if you can not get in touch with either of these and we will get them to contact you ASAP although the person you have been directed to contact will be your best resource to quickly resolve any issues.
What happens when I leave?
Check out policies should be part of the instructions you will be provided with on booking. Since cleaning standards vary, it is important to know how much the owners expect you to clean up prior to departure. At minimum, the rental should be left tidy.When you are ready to leave, the property manager should check you out, and assuming there is no damage, will refund your security deposit if taken either on the spot or within a couple of weeks.
How do I know the rentals are legitimate?
As a travel company it is not in our interest to offer homes that do not exist. We recommend that you protect your self by paying with a credit card and taking out travel insurance. We are members of the local Better Business Bureau.
